As an initiative of the Rotary Club of Chatswood, we wish to recognize and assist those families in the rural areas of NSW that are most affected by the prevailing drought conditions.
We would achieve this by purchasing IGA vouchers from money donated by the public, which in turn would be distributed by the Rural Financial Service to those families who are most in need.
By providing IGA vouchers to these families means they can purchase items of their choice and by doing so keeping money in their own towns and rural economy.
We ask you to give generously so that the families may experience a little joy in the middle of winter.
We will have a stand on Chatswood Chase (Lower Ground Floor) on the 25th to 27th July 2014 to bring this project out to the community.

The Rotary Club of Chatswood has invited the Prime Minister, The Hon Tony Abbott MP to be our guest of honour at a special dinner on 6th August 2014.
The principle beneficiary of the evening will be the Timor-Leste Dental Program which engages Australian volunteer dentists to provide free dental health services in the rural villages of Timor-Leste, in partnership with Carmelite Sisters in Maubara. The TLDP program was established ten years ago under the auspices of Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS), while some residual funds will be used to support other Rotary projects.
In Timor-Leste there are only 10 dentists to provide professional dental care for 1.1 million people who are widely scattered over the country. The funds allocated to the project will therefore go towards providing a Toyota Landcruiser Troop Carrier and mobile dental equipment so that the free service can reach even the most remote villages in the region.
Many thanks to the generous sponsors who have supported our event including our Platinum Sponsors: NAB and Australian Society of Implant Dentistry.
Sold Out. The dinner will be held at The Concourse in Chatswood. Registration is now closed as we are sold out but tax deductible donations would be most welcome and can be made with the following form.
We have organised another BBQ at our local Bunnings. The response was fabulous, especially with the addition of sweet treats for this round, thanks to the initiative of Lyndall, the spouse of our very own Community Service Director, Paul Robson.
We have managed to raise over $1000.00 which will be used to support our various projects.
Every year, to raise fund for ShelterBox Australia, the Club organises 3-4 times a year themed International Dinners (e. g. Italian, Mexican, Vietnamese, etc.) where attendees can enjoy a large variety of country-specific foods, spices and drinks and get information about the country, the restaurant and the food specialities. Additionally all enjoy great entertainment, fellowship and a raffle with themed prices.
Our last International Dinner, a Mexican one, attracted close to 50 ‘food-lovers’ to Dos Senoritas, a Mexican Restaurant in Crows Nest and generated donations for almost one more new ShelterBox.
The up-coming next International Dinner will be the Club’s Oktoberfest
2014 at the Austrian Club in Frenchs Forest on Friday, 10th October. If
you’re interested to join in for the Oktoberfest dinner and to support
ShelterBox contact the Club for details or call: 0413 539 209 (Dieter).
Your support will help people where and when they need help most.
